Katherine Guy, Mediator & Parenting Coordinator

Alternate Dispute Resolution, Domestic Relations

A Mediator is a neutral person who helps two parties in conflict find a solution. Participants in mediation have no obligation to reach an agreement. As an alternative to having a judge rule in a lawsuit, the parties reach agreement between themselves with the help of a mediator.

A Parenting Coordinator is a neutral person appointed by a court to assist parties in finding solutions for their conflicts in a child-focused manner.

The fee for mediation services or parenting coordination is $150 per hour. My communication style is direct; I won’t waste your time. The costs are normally split between the parties.

In mediation, it is reasonable to expect 4 hours to reach an agreement.  You will leave with a written agreement signed by both parties at the completion of a successful mediation session.

I am on the registry of approved court mediators in the State of Indiana for Domestic Relations and a member of the Indiana Association of Mediators.

As a mediator or a parenting coordinator, I use my skills as a licensed counselor to recognize the emotions underlying the conflict while staying focused on finding a solution.

I have experience in hundreds of cases of helping couples reach agreement on custody and parenting time of their children. With years of experience in calming volatile situations, I have a passion to find workable solutions to complex problems in organizations and families.
