The Thing I know I should do:
— the right thing, the helpful thing
— the thing I don’t have to hide, worry about, fight about, or regret
— the thing where I end up feeling good about myself.
The Thing I feel like doing:
— the easy thing, the thing that avoids conflict or upsetting someone, the thing I do out of guilt
— the no self-control thing, the thing that causes conflict, the thing I do out of bitterness or resentment
— the self-indulgent thing, the irresponsible thing, the thing I do regardless of the consequences
— the thing where I end up feeling not so good about myself.
The Thing I actually do.
When the thing I know I should do becomes the thing I actually do, it’s contentment.
