Not Easy = Helpful

We often explain our words or actions with the phrase, “It’s easier.” We do it to avoid conflict of an argument or hurting someone’s feelings. We do it to avoid change when the existing pattern is miserable but familiar.

“It’s easier” is an illusion. It deepens the problem and makes the ultimate solution harder.

We ask, “Is it wrong to want to avoid a fight or hurt their feelings?” It’s not a question of right or wrong. It’s a question of helpful or not helpful.

When we recognize reality, we often observe, “That’s hard. You make it sound easy.” It’s not easy. It’s helpful.

Easy = Not Helpful

Helpful = Not Easy

We take the easier road of not helpful until it becomes damn painful. When we take steps to the helpful route, we discover it’s not easy but worth the effort.
